Dr Tim Raupach
Bio
Tim Raupach is an Industry Scientia Academic at the Institute for Climate Risk and Response at UNSW Sydney. He researches severe convective storms and their hazards in a changing climate. His PhD, from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, in 2016, was on rain microstructure, which influences weather radar interpretation and numerical modelling. After post-docs at EPFL and the University of Bern, he moved to UNSW in 2020. Tim is interested in exploring connections between atmospheric conditions and storm hazards, understanding changes in compounding storm, and using proxies and projections to better elucidate past and possible future changes in severe thunderstorms.
