Bio

Samuel is a PhD candidate at Monash University conducting trans-disciplinary research at the intersection of climate science and disaster and emergency management. His work focuses on understanding how climate change is amplifying extreme weather and increasing demands on emergency response systems. Samuel brings frontline experience in emergency services, alongside leadership roles in volunteer response organisations, and is passionate about strengthening community resilience and improving preparedness for climate-driven disasters in Australia and globally. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Science Advanced - Global Challenges (Honours), majoring in Geographical Science. He is passionate about bridging the gap between science, policy, and practice to improve real-world disaster risk reduction outcomes in Australia and internationally.
